
The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation hosted a run/walk event, Memphis Miles for Myeloma, Saturday, November 12th, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Shelby Farms' Chickasaw Trail.
What is MMRF? The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF) was founded by twin sisters Karen Andrews and Kathy Giusti, soon after Kathy's diagnosis with multiple myeloma. The mission of the MMRF is to urgently and aggressively fund research that will lead to the development of new treatments for multiple myeloma. As the world's number-one funder of multiple myeloma research, the MMRF has raised over $170 million to fund research worldwide. An outstanding 90 percent of total expenditures is used to support high-priority multiple myeloma research and related programming, consistently earning them top rankings from the nation's leading charity evaluators.
